How would one soak in God’s presence?
To soak in God’s presence is to draw from God and rest in Him. To allow His presence to wash over us, to fill us, restore and council us. Because God is all powerful, all merciful, gracious, fully loving and compassionate, His presence is all we need to effectively live this life, and all life comes from Him.
Joh 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
This is part of the reason to just wait in God’s presence. That we may meditate of Him and wait on Him to commune with us in a deeper way without the distractions of life.
One very effective way of ‘soaking’ in God’s presence is to worship Him from the heart through worship music (soaking music/soaking worship music). There is music called ‘soaking’ music that is a wonderful resource, especially written to facilitate these times with God - to be able to switch off to everything and just listen to what God says, and what He wants to minister through this music. In these times, you do nothing, but just wait and meditate on God. God speaks in countless ways. This is just one way of meeting with God intimately, and in these times, He speaks to our hearts the deep things of the Spirit, as we connect our spirit with His Spirit.
Psa 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
Psa 46:11 The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah
At times we need to come before God, without any structure, no agenda or program, lengthy prayer list or anything, and just wait on God. Allow God to speak to us.
Psa 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties;
Psa 139:24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.
It is humbling just to let go before God and allow Him to minister to us in whichever way He wants to.
Isa 57:15 For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, With him who has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
God teaches us things and shows us what He wants us to see when we open our hearts to Him and just listen. We often do all the talking, but the Holy Spirit wants to minister to us when we just be still in His presence.
Job 36:22 “Behold, God is exalted by His power; Who teaches like Him?
Job 36:23 Who has assigned Him His way, Or who has said, ‘You have done wrong’?
Job 36:24 “Remember to magnify His work, Of which men have sung.
Job 36:25 Everyone has seen it; Man looks on it from afar.
Job 36:26 “Behold, God is great, and we do not know Him; Nor can the number of His years be discovered.
Intimacy with God does not come cheaply. While one should never work or strive or perform in any way to get to know God, rather, it is important to seek God’s face through a love relationship, learning to love His presence.
Isa 50:4 “The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. He awakens me morning by morning, He awakens my ear to hear as the learned.
God will prepare our hearts and impart wisdom for the day when we meet with Him. In this, we will have the grace to love people, comfort and council the weary because of what God has imparted to us.
Let us soak in the presence of God, until we are so saturated that we cannot help spill over what we have received to others. We cannot give when we have a deficit because that will lead to burnout.
Soaking in God’s presence is such an amazing thing! It is one of many ways in meeting intimately with God.

Ps. 27: 14 “Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!”
Is. 30: 15-17 “For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength.” But you would not, and you said, “No, for we will flee on horses” - Therefore you shall flee! And, “We will ride on swift horses”- Therefore those who pursue you shall be swift! One thousand shall flee at the threat of one, at the threat of five you shall flee, till you are left as a pole on top of a mountain and as a banner on a hill.”
